August 24th, 2017
Application Complete
I submitted my completed application to the Disney College Program for review. The application process included previous work experience, academic details, and extracurricular details.
August 31st, 2017
Telephone Interview
I had the opportunity at this point to have a phone interview with a recruiter from the Walt Disney Company. As we conversed we discussed previous work experience, scholarly and career goals, as well as potential placement within the Disney College Program.
January 2018
Beginning My Program
I moved to Florida on January 22, 2018 and began working at the Magic Kingdom park in Disney World later that same week. I was assigned to work as a Cast Member at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. I had the opportunity to train both Back of House and Front of House, which allowed me to learn leadership skills with my fellow Cast Members and customer service skills with Guests in the park.
August 25th, 2017
Web-Based Interview
I was asked to participate in the second step to the application process, which required me to participate in a Web-Based Interview. This interview mostly consisted of a personality survey in order to determine if I was a potential fit for the company. Upon completing this step, I was immediately asked to schedule a phone interview with a recruiter from the Walt Disney Company.
September 13th, 2017
Acceptance into the Disney College Program
I received my acceptance via email, and later received a physical copy of my acceptance in the mail. At this stage, I accepted my position and paid my program fees. I also began arranging the details of my program such as transportation details and budgeting.
August 2018
Completion of Program
I was able to complete my six month internship with Disney, graduating with recognition from both guests and leaders at my location for my work as a cast member, and certificates for completing extra classes through Disney University.
